About Qale Rudkhan | Rudkhan Castle
Qale Rudkhan | Rudkhan Castle is a brick and stone medieval castle in Iran. It is in Gilan Province in the North of Iran and one of the popular Iran destinations. Qale Rudkhan was a military complex that had been built in Sassanid era. Later the followers of the Seljuk Dynasty rebuilt it. The castle is on two tips of a mount, with an area of 2.6 hectares.
A River also originates in the surrounding heights and flows from south to north and has the same name as the castle. The first thing that you will notice about the castle is its big entrance gate. The castle also has 42 towers that are still intact. There is an inscription of the entrance door that is in Rasht Museum.
It is now one of the famous tourist highlights of Gilan Province and attracts many domestic and also incoming tourists each year. It is a great site for trekking.
