Masooleh is a village located in Gilan Province in North of Iran. The architecture of the village is very unique. They have built the houses into the mountains. Each house's roof is another house's yard. Yellow clay coats the exterior of most buildings in the village. This allows for better visibility in the fog. Among Northern Iran destinations, Masooleh is very popular.
The village does not allow any motor vehicles to enter, because of it's its unique layout. It is the only city in Iran with such a prohibition.
There are many local shops in the village which sell Handicraft and souvenirs of the village. There are also many restaurants that provide traditional and local food.
